Writer’s Block.

Am I allowed to  skip the standard explanatory inaugural post and just pretend I’ve been doing this forever?  This is too much work.

I’ve generally always considered blogging to be one of the purest forms of ego centrism, encouraging overtly narcissistic behavior and employed only by the most self-loving individuals who could give Tyra Banks a run for her money.   From the always reliable Urban Dictionary:

blog
n.
Short for weblog.
A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as “homework sucks” and “I slept until noon today.”

But I want to do this anyway.  It looks fun.  Everyone else has a blog, and I got jealous, so this is it.  A little narcissism is good for the soul.  I read that somewhere.  Or made it up.

The concept is still a work in-progress.  Since the About page consists of zero content other than a picture of a t-shirt that says “I Still Live With My Parents,” here’s a very brief background:  I still haven’t figured out what to do with my life. I recently moved back home to find some direction.  These are the adventures of a 25-year-old adjusting to moving back in with her parents.  I know for a fact I’m not the only one.

This move is temporary.  I have to find a way to hold myself accountable for life changes somehow, so you’re looking at it.   But mostly I’m just really really jealous of other peoples’ blogs, so this is my excuse for starting one.  And for learning how to start a website, which is really hard.  Don’t even get me started on html…

I’m hungry.  So “The End.”  For now

I will be reading. Maybe I should start a blog about moving to the Oregon coast, not knowing anyone and having to make new friends. Or I could do a blog about brand names of the west vs. east, i.e. Hellmans Mayo = Best Foods Mayo once you cross the Rockies. I love and miss you.
